An Interview: Chris Kean

dodio

The latest in our series of Interviews introduces our Managing Director, Chris Kean.  His tongue in cheek approach to the some of the questions can be taken with a pinch of salt!

Chris Kean

Where did you grow up?

During simpler times in Albany, Washington in the 80s when cartoons were good, discarded shopping trolleys were goalposts and go karts and not a single adult tried to stop us playing with Lawn Darts.

What is your role at dodio?

I’m the Managing Director, but I prefer my subordinates to look at me as simply part of the team… the best part of the team.  At the end of the day I’m just a man.

What is your favourite food?

Chicken Madras, Mushroom Pilau, Chilli Nan and and a pile of Poppadoms.  I’d have that 3 times a day everyday but for the impact it’d likely have on my colon.

What is your Party Trick

I reserve the occasional mind blowing dance move for special occasions, and I have a heightened level of dexterity in my tongue.

How did you come to work at dodio

I invented dodio.  The question should be how did dodio come to work at me or something.  I was working for the North East BIC (one of 3 ex-BIC employees in our team!) building websites and working in IT support.  The opportunity came up and I took it. I’ll always be grateful for the support I received in those early days from the BIC, and we’re still a tenant today.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Spending time with Senga and Alfie is when I’m happiest.  At home I love films, and we love travelling to see bands in new cities and venues  but honestly most of my spare time is spent surviving a pretty serious allergy to our pet dog and my arch nemesis, Jackson.  This is a joke to everyone else in my family.

Best thing about working at dodio?

We’ve built a lovely little team now and after years of working alone It’s great to come in every day to a place where we all share the same values, we all support each other and have a good laugh too!
